FAQ - Houseboat Stay in Amsterdam

Everything you may want to know before your stay on the Amsterdam canals.

From romantic canal mornings to practical details before arrival, here’s everything guests usually ask before booking their houseboat stay in Amsterdam.

❤️ The Experience

Romantic Amsterdam houseboat stay on the canals

Is this a romantic houseboat stay in Amsterdam?

Many couples choose our houseboat studios for a romantic getaway.

Waking up on the canals, enjoying sunset drinks on the rooftop terrace or relaxing in your private jacuzzi creates a memorable Amsterdam experience.

Why choose a houseboat instead of a hotel in Amsterdam?

A houseboat stay offers privacy, canal views and an authentic local atmosphere you won’t find in a standard hotel.

Instead of staying above the city, you stay on the water — surrounded by the peaceful rhythm of the canals and real neighbourhood life.

🏡 The Stay

Private jacuzzi inside the De Jordaan houseboat studio

Is the private jacuzzi in De Jordaan really private?

Yes. The De Jordaan studio includes a private jacuzzi hidden beneath the lift-up bed.

It is exclusively for your use during your stay, offering a unique spa experience in the heart of Amsterdam.

Is the houseboat stable on Amsterdam canals? Will I feel it moving?

Our houseboats are permanently moored and securely connected to the quay.

You may occasionally feel a gentle movement when boats pass by, but most guests find it relaxing and part of the authentic canal experience.

Rooftop terrace at the De Pijp houseboat

Is the houseboat warm in winter in Amsterdam?

Both houseboats are fully insulated and equipped with modern heating, ensuring a warm and cozy stay year-round.

Is the rooftop terrace in De Pijp private?

The rooftop terrace is shared between the two private studios.

However, at over 40m² it offers plenty of space and multiple seating areas, allowing guests to enjoy their own moment above the canals.

It’s the perfect spot for morning coffee overlooking the canals or sunset drinks above Amsterdam’s rooftops.

📍 Location & Getting Around

Are the houseboats centrally located in Amsterdam?

Major attractions, restaurants, and public transport are within walking distance.

What are the check-in and check-out times for your Amsterdam houseboat stay?

Check-in from 15:00. Check-out at 11:00.

As we are a small and personal accommodation, guests often depart and arrive on the same day. For this reason, early check-in or late check-out is not always possible.

Can we store luggage before or after our stay in Amsterdam?

As a small private houseboat rental without reception or storage facilities, luggage storage on-site is unfortunately not possible. However, secure luggage storage options are available at Central Station and throughout the city:
